Ryan H., Guest worker at Nature Fresh Farms from Jamaica

Before he decided to come to Canada, Ryan H. worked as an Administrative Clerk in his home country of Jamaica. But for over 10 years, Ryan has been working at Nature Fresh Farms as a Guest Worker through the Canadian Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program!

Making a better living to support his family is ultimately why Ryan decided to come to Canada and become a Guest Worker: “The main reason I came to Canada was to make better money than I was making back home. I also like the stability and balance I get working at Nature Fresh Farms. I can give my family and kids a better life I probably wouldn’t have been able to give them otherwise.”

There are a few key skills that Ryan has developed over the years that help him excel in his role: “You need to have good communication skills in this role, both for speaking and listening. Comprehension is also very important, so you know exactly what is being asked of you. And being able to do the job quickly is essential.”

During his spare time, Ryan enjoys visiting places and hanging out with the many friends he has made during his time working in Canada. Ryan also likes checking in with his family back home in Jamaica.

Ryan’s primary role on our farm is to hand-pick our produce with the utmost care and speed. But Ryan also performs any other General Labor tasks that need to be completed to keep our plants maintained and healthy. Ryan is one of our #GrowToPeople!
