Jose C., Guest worker at Nature Fresh Farms

Jose C. grew up in Guatemala as the youngest of five brothers. Back home, Jose found work growing broccoli and corn, but in 2018, he decided to come to Canada and work as part of the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program. Since he arrived, Jose has been a member of the Nature Fresh Farms General Labor team!

When Jose was deciding whether to come to Canada, his two brothers – who are also Guest Workers at our farm – motivated him to join the TFW Program: “My brothers told me about what it was like to work at Nature Fresh Farms, so I decided to come here, too. When I’m done here, I would love to buy some land back in Guatemala, build a house, and maybe even start a business like a convenience store.”

Working hard and with speed is something Jose always tries to do when completing his tasks in the greenhouse: “I always try to get the job done to the best of my ability. I also like working with some reggaetón music playing because it helps me get the job done faster!”

With both of his brothers also working at our farm, Jose likes to spend most of his free time hanging out with his family and friends.

As a General Laborer at our farm, Jose does the best he can to complete his crop maintenance tasks efficiently. Jose also believes it’s important to always respect his Supervisors as they show him and his teammates respect, as well. Jose is one of our #GrowToPeople!
