Meet Evodio, Seasonal Agricultural Worker from Mexico

My name is Evodio, and I am from Mexico. I’ve been working on this farm in Canada for sixteen seasons now, and I truly enjoy what I do here. I first came to Canada in 1996 after a friend who was already working here invited me. It’s been a rewarding experience both for me and my family back home.

I have a wife and three children—two girls and a boy—and working here allows me to support them and provide a better life. I’ve even been able to buy land in Mexico where I grow corn when I’m back home.

What I enjoy most about working here is harvesting peppers and Brussels sprouts. It’s tiring, but also fun, and I take pride in the hard work we do.

Outside of work, we all get together, like a family, we have coffee and eat together. Sometimes we go out to have fun in town, just to see the sights or do some shopping.

I want Canadians to know that we work hard, and we’re grateful for the opportunities we have here.
